Reveiw of online spree site IZSPREE
I ordered a couple of items from IZSPREE. Here is a list of its hits and misses
P.S. I might be a little biased as you'll find out later....
Hits
1.Has a wide variety of sprees.
2.Trusted spree site as it has supposed been featured in the papers before.
Misses
1.Does not send you a confirmation email unless you pester them for it. You would have to check back at the site to make sure that your order has been frozen. Even then, it takes them relatively long to close the spree and freeze your comment.
-A point to note is that many other spree sites do not send you a confirmation mail as all updates are done on the spree site itself. So this isnt a major point to avoid spreeing with them but for those who love to receive email updates, it would do better to avoid.
2.Postage fees. I got a shock when i received the email asking for top-up for postage. So this is the formula to calculate the amount of top-up given by them:
Amount to top up: (no. of items x $0.50) + (no. of items x $2 OR $3.50)
$0.50 per item is charged for additional shipping costs. Which acceptable.
Now what really got me scratching my head is the postage cost. So for each item that you've placed an order for, you are supposed to pay either $2 for normal mail or $3.50 for registered mail. I had 3 items so if i opted for registered it would be a whopping $10.50 for postage alone, not includding the additional shipping costs.
I thought that this was unreasonable as postage for three pieces of clothing shouldn't amount to that much even with registered post. So i sent them an email asking for clarification. I said that if the items were packed together postage would not have to be that expensive.
Their reply was that it is under their terms and conditions that each item would be charged postage as shown in the formula.
-On hindsight, i regret to admit that it was my own fault for not reading through their T&Cs properly. But i noticed another point in their T&C which said that meet-up could be chosen. So i emailed back asking if meet-up could be chosen and whether i would still need to pay for the postage fees. It seems that self collection is possible.
I guess that lesson here would be that all potential buyers should read through the sites T&Cs carefully before placing their orders.
Then again, recently i have this customer who ordered an item from me. It is stated in the HOW TO ORDER section that the transaction details would have to be provided so that i can verify payment. She sent me an email telling me that payment has been made. I replied asking her for the details and address. She got slightly irritated (as can be seen be the capital letters that she used) and told me that her friend had made the transfer for her and was already asleep. So i replied back politely if she would please reply with the details the next day.
For some reason it made her angry and she said she has never dealt with a seller like me before.
I'm a bit miffed. Is it wrong for the seller to ask for verification of payment? I asked politely and i do not understand why she needed to get pissed off and make such a veiled insult...
